I started building a seed map site based on cubiomes. It calculates biome and terrain estimation using a world seed, and displays a browseable map. mcseedmap.net. I found an "unknown map" or "map 0" as well it shows just a corner of the village I found it in, in a chest. It has a white spot on but in the area it shows, but it matches with the only tree tall enough to have snow on it. Also no idea as to what this means. Please respond if you ever figured it out.
Hi guys, Vechs here! I started making custom stuff for Minecraft back in 2010, and the Super Hostile series is my best-known contribution to Minecraft fans everywhere! The main objective of my maps (aka custom Minecraft worlds) is to find and complete the Victory Monument. This is a structure with slots on it for blocks.
The map needs enable-command-block=true and allow-flight=true in server.properties when played on a server. I've traveled thousands of blocks to find a woodland mansion. I finally got to the point where my white dot on the map moves up/down depending on which direction I move. I've tried going North, South, East and West, but the white dot doesn't go onto the map as an arrow, filling the map. I've spent hours trying to figure it out, but no dice.

The wiki claims that using a cartography table allows to you to zoom in with a map. I am assuming this means creating a copy of the map that is one size smaller. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how, and the wiki says nothing on the matter other than you can do it. Is the wiki wrong, or am I missing something?
On the server-side and single-player side. I have been looking around for resetting maps and all I seem to be able to find is how to reset the whole playable map itself, which is not what I wanted, at all. I know how to reset a world map. I want to know how to reset or clear those little hand-held maps that are in-game.
Maps used to be centered where they were first used which made it hard to make them tile. So they changed them to have fixed centers. So all you can do is either build in the middle of the map or make several maps and tile them, which won't help if you want to carry them around, just if you want them on a wall.
