Eventually I accepted this, though. The levels aren't very long, so I would be able to beat each level within 30 minutes or maybe an hour for the hardest ones anyway, even if I had to restart from the beginning sometimes. Besides the platforming, the game consists of combat. The combat unfortunately is quite boring. It is also mostly very easy.
Every so often my entire computer will just completely lag out. This isn't an ingame issue (even though play is impossible) but instead it's the entire PC. Any action takes forever to happen. For example, closing the browser or the game it self by just clicking the X in the corner take at least 30 seconds to 1 minute to actually happen.
Dingo - in your setup - the glass may be acting in its capacity as an item elevator. If the item is catching on the sides of the glass hit box - it could be lifting them just enough to prevent the hopper from catching the item. Try replacing all but 1 side with a solid block where they meet the hoppers.
