It really depends on where you are moving from. Ft Lauderdale is a different world. It is one of the most expensive places in the country, it can be gorgeous and can be ugly too. In general the closer to the water the nicer the area. But just west of Federal (US1) will be the roughest and the poorest.

Im a Miami Native but Im visiting Ft Lauderdale for the first time and it's actually kind of nice. I know the folks at the r/miami sub created a Google Map with all the different neighborhoods in the city here. I am wondering if there's something similar to Ft Lauderdale, I would like to get to know this part of South Florida a bit more. Thanks
Miami and Florida are very densely populated near the coasts. If they are building a decent size map it could reasonably include West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale as secondary cities. These can be places with their own vibes and plenty of things to interact with.
Looking at the key of this map provides good view, in practice, of what I mean: The first letter of the classifies a location's climate into one of 5 main climate groups based on seasonal precipitation and temperature patterns: A (tropical), B (dry), C (temperate), D (continental), and E (polar).

Fort Lauderdale is a tourist destination. Lots of bars. Lots of short-term rentals. Lots of parties. Lots of drunk drivers. Lots of confused tourists. The most dangerous single mile of highway in the entire United States is in Fort Lauderdale. The other roads here are not far behind. I won't drive on New Years eve.
East Oakland Park, the immediate areas outside of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, Lauderhill outside of Inverrary, some parts of Hollywood, and the Southwest Fort Lauderdale area. Everywhere else is perfectly fine. That's Davie, Dania, Pembroke Pines, Cooper City, Weston, Tamarac, Parkland, EAST Pompano Beach, literally everything west of the turnpike.
