The University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, also known as the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA ( DGSOM ), is an accredited medical school located in Los Angeles, California, United States. Founded in 1951, it is the second medical school in the University of California system, after the UCSF School of Medicine.
The UCLA School of Dentistry was established in 1964 [ 5] in response to the need for an additional public school of dentistry in the greater Los Angeles area. The Class of 1968 was the first graduating class, with 28 Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degrees awarded. Over time, the school has grown and transformed.
