The Brucker family is proud of its heritage and commitment to the Newark-Licking County community. Brucker Kishler Funeral Home was founded in 1924. At that time it was known as the Householder Funeral Home. In 1951 Robert Brucker, Sr. and James Kishler formed a partnership and purchased the firm.

Roy passed away April 22, 2021, at the OSU Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1939, in Mobridge, South Dakota, to the late Harold Herbert and Julia (LeCompte) Gay. Roy was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War. He retired as a firefighter from the City of Newark.
