Just throw away the ads that she wouldn't want, update the addresses of people she should receive directly. Lots of companies actually skip mailing until after an address change.

I set up a temporary change of address for 6 months and now i need to extend it for 2 more months. Everything i can find online says i should be able to extend it for a maximum of 6 more months, but i cannot figure out how to do this. When i go to the USPS site and view my order using the confirmation code there i son option to extend.
Pretty much title. Do senders with address service endorsed get notified of a temporary forwarding address? As in: if I submit a temporary—say 3 months—address change through USPS, will they notify people who send me mail of the temporary address change? I’ve tried googling but haven’t found a clear answer.
There IS a solution. When you register on the usps site for the change of address click the 'temporary' button. If you select this, usps will forward all of the mail to your new address for 6 months and they won't sell any of the info - it remains private. You also have the option to extend for another six months when the first six months are up.

If you have the same middle name you just have to update your address manually with everyone sending you mail, and/or have one of you send the other person their mail. Also you can’t do a personal forward from a business, manually update your address with senders if you want that mail, or ask the business to send you your mail.
Temporary is better but it is for a max six months. However you can keep renewing online as long as you have a credit card that uses the old address and you pay $1.05 each time.
