Torrentz2 was pretty cool, aggregating and searching through multiple sources. But the siteneable & similar that come up as proxies of torrentz2 suck, with way too many pop ups and redirects and new tabs. They also don't really link to the websites with the torrent (eg rarbg) but rather some half-done clone
In terms of torrentz2 itself, the site seems to be working. You don't really need any magnet links, each torrent page has the "info_hash:" listed in the lower right with the trackers. Just copy that info_hash, then paste it into your torrent client as the magnet link - Most/all torrent clients recognize a info hash as a magnet link. 1. Reply.
try with qbitorrent search engine (directly into qbitorrent software) Knaben.xyz also searches in RuTracker. This is a working Torrentz2 site. It seems very like the old torrentz2 with the unfortunate difference that it doesn't provide information about seeders/peers.

The torrent file loads all the info on the torrent right away when opened in your bittorrent client. File names trackers etc. Magnet doesn't do that until it's able to connect to someone and may not have all the full info the torrent gives even then. Someone else may be able to explain better.
