  2. Swepco Limit Restrictions? Ramp Caution - Beaver Lake -...

    forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/37191-swepco-limit-restrictions-ramp-caution

My grandfather always used to say about my grandmother, that she'd "argue with a signpost". Yeah it is surprising that there is no length limit on bass in the general rules or at Swepco, but Swepco used to be strictly catch and release for bass, then it got overpopulated with bass, they were skinny and stunted, so they encouraged people to keep bass and thin them out.

Fished SWEPCO with my buddy Jeb yesterday, the fishing was decent, we caught 20 bass on c-rigs. The bass in the lake are really solid, not fat, just big ol' chunks and fight hard. It's been 6 or 7 years since I have been over there. being a warm water power plant lake it gets a lot of pressure in...

Not a big fan of SWEPCO. It's close to the house so I hit it two or three times last year on weekdays. It fished fine for me on those trips. Certainly didn't sit in one spot and catch 100, but caught enough to beat sitting at the house.

    forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/72675-bob-kid-or-elmdale

Well I am starting to scope out either Elmdale, Bob Kid, or Swepco for my next trips. I expect that Swepco will be a fight for a parking spot on a weekend day if I haul over my bass boat. Will I be fighting for parking at Elmdale or Bob Kid if I drag the bass boat over on a weekend? Are any of these lakes covered in vegetation like Leatherwood?

Swepco is one I had not thought of. Right now I am trying to focus my efforts on locations where I could theoretically stumble into multiple species and Swepco certainly seems to fit the bill. There used to be some good bass fishing and catfishing to be had. Maybe I can turn it into a 3 species trip with a tub of worms and dropshot.
