She charged her phone overnight, but the phone’s battery was completely drained in the morning. She uses a 2018 15” MBP brick. The MagSafe charger turns hot even when the phone isn’t is charging.

DFW, TX. Oct 20, 2020. #14. Magsafe is Apple buzzword for the magnet. Wireless Charging is wireless charging. Magsafe more effortlessly aligns the charging coils over each other. That is about it. It is still a brilliant thing for what it is. Neither one mingles with data transfer though.

I tried connecting and reconnecting the MagSafe charger and used several different USB C adapters, none of which got the iPhone 12 Pro to start charging. I did what most people would do and turned the phone off and on.
