In 2009, AC/DC received four nominations for their 2008 album Black Ice in the ARIA Music Awards which included Best Rock Album, Highest Selling Album, Best Group and Best Album. The album was recorded during AC/DC's Black Ice World Tour on 4 December 2009 at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. Video footage from the same concert was previously officially released in May 2011 on DVD and Blu-ray as Live at River Plate. This is the band's final release to feature original rhythm guitarist and co-founder Malcolm Young before his retirement in 2014 due to poor health.
After a lengthy eight-year hiatus, AC/DC returned with a new studio album, Black Ice, in 2008. Black Ice debuted at number 1 in 29 countries and was certified multi-platinum in 14 of those, becoming one of their most successful albums worldwide, and was followed by a hugely successful world tour.
The album is a follow-up to their highly successful album Back in Black. For Those About to Rock has sold over four million copies in the US.
