HiSET. HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) [ 1][ 2] is an alternative to a U.S. high school diploma, GED, and TASC test. The test was designed based on the OCTAE College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education. [ 3] It is governed by ETS and is provided in cooperation with relevant authority of the state or territories.
Individuals who are or will become 16 years old during the academic year (April to the following March) can take this exam. However, those who are awarded the certificate can not enter a university until they become 18 years old since the certificate is with the proviso that no qualifications until he or she becomes 18 years old.
