Update - it finally did work, but took a really long time to download the set up file using this link iTunes 12.12.2.2 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2021-10-27). (Newer files than the one on the Download page). Mine had 2 files - Application size 205,315 kb & PART 167,600 kb.

Support for Windows XP (and Vista) was dropped when Apple released iTunes 12.2 last year. The latest (and almost certainly last) version to support XP is 12.1.3.6 - this is an out-of-sequence release from September 2015 that adds support for iOS 9 devices but lacks Apple Music and other features added in iTunes 12.2 and 12.3.

A newer version of itunes is already installed Hello, I had a problem with iTunes and I uninstalled it. I downloaded the latest version for Windows 10, 64-bit. When I go to reinstall it, I get this message “A newer version of itunes is already installed.” The exe quits after that.
