Checks for recording fees, filing fees, mortgage taxes, NYC real property transfer taxes, and NYS real estate transfer taxes should be made payable to “NYC Department of Finance.”
All of the City Register’s records back to 1966 are maintained online in the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS). The City Register collects the real property transfer tax (RPTT) and mortgage recording tax when documents are submitted for recording.
