Adobe Portfolio is a FREE service for the convenience of Creative Cloud members. It certainly does have limitations because it's aimed at inexperienced users with zero coding skills. The likelihood that Portfolio will lower their curtain to allow for code insertion from inexperienced users is somewhere between Slim & None.
When combining documents into portfolio using current acrobat (23.006.20360) it opens a new document containing all the sub documents, we can then highlight all the documents within this portfolio to print . Wen combining documents into portfolio using "new acrobat", all you get is a list of documents with no way to print them.
Please use the following steps to disable the creation of a Portfolio: 1. In Acrobat, go to Tools > Combine Files. 2. Click on Options in the Combine Files window. 3. Uncheck the Save as PDF portfolio box and click on the OK button to save the changes. Let us know how it goes. Thanks, Meenakshi

In the newest version (I've finally upgraded from CS4 - was very adept at the CS4 version of Acrobat Pro, but this new Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version is too....well, it tries to be too 'user friendly'), I see the "Order" column for each PDF in the portfolio, but I can't seem to edit that number to rearrange the files in the order I choose.
Spend the $12/yr and get a domain. Adobe Portfolio is the best “free” platform for a designer’s website. I have used them for years. Edit: Also, you can transfer your website to another Adobe account in the future if needed.

I don't want to use a Portfolio because Portfolios are not compatible with the Acrobat Home document sharing site. If I have 20 PDFs and I want my review team to see all of them by name AND use the document share site, please advise.
I was hoping to be able to tab from the Name field to the Description field and to any custom fields for each document within a portfolio. Right-clicking, etc. is time consuming and clunky. This is the actual way of renaming the file name within a PDF portfolio. I understand your concern that it might take a little more time.
There are 2 starting points for creating Portfolios. One is through Acrobat's Menu bar, File => Create, and the other is using the Tools. combine files. In both approaches one needs to read the instructions and make sure one has selected "Portfolio" for output option for the task. You might want to read about Portfolios in Acrobat's Help file ...
