Good questions. I think the lead makes clear that the BAA recognizes course records for alternate lengths of the race, but I added another sentence to the lead to clarify some of these variances - esp. why DeMar is listed with a 1927 course record that's 15 minutes slower than Johnny Miles' 1926 course record.
