Sentinel-2 is a Copernicus Programme that acquires optical imagery at high spatial resolution over land and coastal waters. The mission has two satellites, Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B, each with a Multi-Spectral Instrument (MSI) that has 13 spectral channels in the visible, near infrared, and short wave infrared part of the spectrum.

Sentinel-1 is a European Space Agency mission to monitor land and sea with a C-band synthetic-aperture radar (C-SAR) instrument. The mission consists of four satellites, with Sentinel-1A and Sentinel-1B operational and Sentinel-1C and Sentinel-1D in development.
