Winger gained popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s with two platinum albums, Winger and In the Heart of the Young, along with charting singles "Seventeen", "Headed for a Heartbreak" and "Miles Away".
Winger followed the release of the album with a 13-month world tour, playing with other heavy metal groups such as Kiss, Scorpions, Extreme, Slaughter, and with hard rock group ZZ Top. A collection of music videos with the same title was released the following year in two separate VHS volumes.
