Late 1990s and 2000s GM sound systems are the best kept secret on the planet. A lot of their midsize sedans and larger have some rather hilarious sound systems that will impress you for just being a mediocre stock unit. I know this was the case with my wagon, especially considering it's a 200 watt unit lmao.

The ICE Volvos that have the B&W sound systems are often reviewed as having the best from factory audio. You can’t get it with the current EV volvos but it will be available in the ex90 and the polestar 3. Should be amazing. So far, I have heard BMW IX, MB EQS,EQE line up, and Rivain Meridian system.
The Volvo B&W systems and Mercedes burmester usually top the list, with lexus Mark Levinson coming in at the second tier. In my experience the Mark Levinson systems are not consistent, it depends on the model of the car. My ISF had ML and it wasn't very good, but the 2014 LS460 had a really great system. Reply reply.
I know the new F-150s come with like a 12 speaker B&O system with speakers in the headrests. But that would definitely be more than 30k. Buy what ever you want for $27k and spend another $3k in aftermarket gear. The audio on my wife's $15,000 used Mercedes is incredible (Harmon Karden).
Generally extremely noticeable for me. Cars with stock systems tend to sound flat at low volumes and muddy/distorted at high volumes (although I am sure there are exceptions). I think the sweet spot for many cars is the “mid-range” sound system offered in many cars (e.g. the $800 system vs the $5K system).
Best: Acura RLX with 14-speaker Krell sound system. I've been in more expensive luxury flagships but didn't get to listen to its stereo. The one in the Acura will definitely deliver if you're looking for it. Sound systems that are decent: Acura TL with Bose upgrade. I had a 3rd gen TL and it sounded great.
I would focus on buying a quality vehicle with a good resale value, and deal with the sound system afterwards. I drive a 2022 Sierra Denali with the Bose system, and upgraded the speakers after the fact. Many new vehicles have an android based infotainment system now, and regardless of the nameplate on the speaker cover, they are cheap speakers.
