This is the workaround: Sign in to appleid.apple.com with your iCloud alias and normal Apple ID password, create an app-specific password for New Outlook, and then set up your iCloud alias email account in New Outlook. “iCloud isn’t setup for this Apple OD account”. Totally absurd. I Checked credentials on multiple devices, iCloud logged in “brute force” with the new password. Etc etc. Done everything and iCloud and Apple ID work fine everywhere!! I can even login to iTunes from the ATV successfully with the new password.
