The DirecTV receiver that is on one of my televisions is not working properly. The remote and the TV work fine independently. There is buffering, break in dialogue, difficulty and delay in changing channels or applications on the TV screen. I would like a new one please. How do I go about getting it?

The answer was no, because it takes a technician to set it up. June 17, 4pm came, but DirecTv did not. At 5pm DirecTv called me to reschedule. The soonest they could get me scheduled for was June 28, noon to 4pm. They told me it was possible that an earlier slot would open up and if it did they would call me.
I've been on hold for 3 hours, one of the lines to my one of my TV's is either disconnected or something happenned to it, I need to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to my home, it's insane that you can't just do this online, everything is virtual and takes you from one invaluable answer to another. The alternative is the Equipment Protection Plan for $8.99 a month (also covers remote replacements which otherwise are $15 through DirecTV). Personally, the one-time costs are cheaper in the long run (and remotes usually cheaper through other retailers assumedly because of bulk deals, i.e. Amazon). To get another tech out, you would need to call DirecTV and submit a Field Service Request (FSR) complaint on the prior appointment about work incomplete.
