The friends and family thing is BS anyway. Ok for a one night stay but it’s never that cheap and always hard to actually get to work right. Have your currently employed relative email the Go Hilton HR team to ask what the deal is. Your profile/name might still be attached to the old employee.
Yes you can book 2 rooms, and yes your friend can be added to the second one. However as others said you are REQUIRED to be there for check-in for both rooms. It doesn't pull from the team members employee nights, only from their friends and family nights.
