As a Whataburger employee I can confirm. No. 2 with cheese. Perfect meat to bun/topping proportions, and gotta have cheese on a burger. The LTOs are better in some ways but they can get old if you eat them too much, a #2 is a good all-around. That’s what I’ve been saying about the #2.

They’re opening a Whataburger on The Strip in Vegas. It’s making it’s way to the coast. They have plans to open 100 Whataburger's in Socal. I heard they just bought Sonic, there are many of those in CA, maybe they will turn some of them into Whataburger. Once or twice a year is better than about 5 times in 7 years.
I have friends who work for Whataburger and they came to town last summer to do a market study. They’re headed to CHA soon. I’m just unsure of the timelime. I miss their fries…and burgers being available 24/7. You ever had a bacon cheeseburger and fries for breakfast? I have, lol.
It’s sad to see Whataburger prioritizing profits more than customer and staff loyalty. Also you can tell as more stores open the quality of food and service has gone downhill. It won’t be long until Whataburger files for bankruptcy or closes stores outside of Texas. They have to get their act together and start listening to the public!
