There are many mechanics to lower the shop prices, so 20 % would be too high imo, as you could stack it with the discount card to give over 40 % cost reduction (making the discount card buff non-stackable just doesn't seem right). Mbe lower the consumable buff to 5 % and make it stackable, giving 25 % cost reduction when combined with discount ...
Please make it a permanent consumable (stored on character, not world) It just makes sense I think and would make life easier. As for greedy ring, just getting rid of it entirely seems like the best option.

Discount card question. If you have multiple Discount Cards equipped, do the effects stack? So with the system that Terraria has in place, you can only have 1 of any equipment equipped at a time (i.e. 1 wings, 1 feral claw, etc.). So theoretically, if there was a way to stack discount cards, it SHOULD work, but the game won't allow you to do that.
Bring a Pirate Map over from another world. I beat the pirate invasion in that world; however, the princess isn't selling the discount card. It also has to be in hardmode. Kill the Wall of Flesh. Push comes to shove, build a house for the Guide in the Underworld, then use it to dunk him in lava.
The discount card I agree with. It's similar to the other accessories that function in the inventory like the GPS and such. Doesn't affect combat, just a convenience item. The other two, though...gold ring could really go either way, it's such a minor thing that it hardly matters.
Discount says it lowers prices on shops, which makes you assume things you buy. But it also includes reforging. So always use it to lower gold cost from 1g to 20 gold! TIL there's a discount card in terraria. TIL there's a pirate invasion in terraria. Ya I've done like 7 of em so far and nothing.
Pumpking. Jan 19, 2019. #2. Not a bug. You're unlucky. In my opinion, they could increase the drop rate of the rings and discount card a little, because, yeah, it can be a real grind-fest. You're undoubtedly not alone here.
So when there is no Discount Card on my current loadout (loadout 1), the Autohammer costs 84 gold. My current money. Now press F2 to switch to the loadout that has the discount card. The Autohammer now costs 67. Buy some Autohammers with sell price at 111 platinum 55 gold. Now press F1 to switch back to Loadout 1
