Transfer Students UC Transfers. shapkaa April 19, 2014, 2:28am 1.
Hi, I am a student at a CCC with an offer to join Phi Theta Kappa. The cost to join is $80. I really do not have a lot of money (80 bucks is 2/3 of my money for food per month, to put it into perspective), so I want to know if it’s really worth it.
Phi Theta Kappa is a legitimate and highly-respected honor society. It’s one of the highest honors a community college student can receive and is similar to Phi Beta Kappa at four-year colleges. Definitely not a scam- far from it! Most honor societies have initiation fees/dues; that is completely normal. And no, before you call me biased, I ...
Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society—being acclaimed all over the US and out. Plus, maybe it’s just w/ my school, but AGS doesn’t do ANYTHING. PTK has monthly meetings, events, fundraisers, etc.

Good luck! If you have any questions let me know. It’s really worth everything to join Phi Theta Kappa!

As this was during peak season at my job and I was at ...

It generally amounts to ~17 A’s in your 1st 5 semesters at Brown, if you are a junior. Very few juniors (~20-30) get inducted, many more seniors are inducted each year.

lderochi March 4, 2009, 11:55am 4.
It’s a nice honor and definitely not a scam. Particularly if you aren’t eligible for Phi Beta Kappa due to your major and/or your school doesn’t have a Phi Beta Kappa chapter.
. shyanne March 4, 2009, 12:43pm 5.
Transfer Students. halansir April 6, 2005, 8:31pm 1.
I’m currently in the application process for the UC system, and I had a question concerning checking involvement in extra curriculars. I am currently a member of Phi Theta Kappa, but I havent been able to attend a single meeting (even the make-up ones) because I would have class during ...
I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa at my local community college. I had to have a 3.8 to qualify. Many colleges offer transfer scholarships to Phi Theta Kappa members especially if your community college has an articulation agreement with them.
