Students may customize their high school experience beyond the Foundation High School Program by completing requirements for additional components such as endorsements, the distinguished level of achievement, and performance acknowledgments.
A new, more exible graduation program that allows students to pursue their interests will be in place for all students who enter high school, beginning in the 2014-2015 school year.

The program contains up to four parts: A 22-credit foundation plan which is the core of the Texas high school diploma program. Five endorsement* options that allow students to focus on a related series of courses. A higher performance category called Distinguished Level of Achievement.
§74.41. High School Graduation Requirements. (a) Graduates of each high school are awarded the same type of diploma. The academic achievement record (transcript), rather than the diploma, records individual accomplishments, achievements, and courses completed and displays appropriate graduation seals.
Since high school credit is based on demonstrated proficiency in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for a given course, including concurrent enrollment in the list of courses that count for specified graduation requirements is redundant.
