There are 9 public universities in Chittagong Division ,The Khulna Division has Seven , Rajshahi Division has Six, Each of Mymensingh Division , Rangpur Division and Sylhet Division has four. And Barisal Division has three. As of 2022 the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh has introduce the cluster system for students enrollment.
