First stamps. The first postage stamp in the Dutch East Indies was printed in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on 1 April 1864. [ 1][ 2] The stamp showed a picture of King Willem III of the Netherlands and had a face value of ten cents. It was designed by T W Kaiser.
On September 25, 2013, the USPS announced a 3-cent increase in the First Class postal rate, effective January 26, 2014, increasing the price of a stamp to 49 cents.
