Web colors are colors used in displaying web pages on the World Wide Web; they can be described by way of three methods: a color may be specified as an RGB triplet, in hexadecimal format (a hex triplet) or according to its common English name in some cases. A color tool or other graphics software is often used to generate color values.

Module:Color contrast ( sandbox) This template returns the color contrast ratio between the two colors provided. It accepts two parameters, which can be a standard RGB hex color code ( #RRGGBB) or a standard HTML color or CSS "orange" (= #FFA500 ). Color names and hex letters are case-insensitive (i.e. they may be upper- or lower-case).
This template determines the pair of colors with the larger contrast ratio: color1/color2 or color1/color3. This is useful for selecting a foreground/background color pair. For accessibility, WCAG 2.0 AA guidelines require a contrast ratio of 3 or larger for large text, and 4.5 or larger for normal sized text.
