Step 1. Insert the CD disc you want to rip to your computer's disk drive and open VLC media player. Click "Media" on the toolbar and choose "Convert/Save" from the drop-down menu. Step 2. The VLC setting is well hidden. Tools --> Preferences --> All (radio button, bottom left) --> Video --> Output Modules --> Direct3D 11. Here yon can choose "Super Resolution" as video upscaling mode. You may have to update your GeForce driver as well. If it works, I hope it won't freeze your video.

If my new media player hooked up to my TV has been doing that for several months and the old one that only played AVIs did so for 5 years and it was a cheap old thing from Walmart unlike my new one, then something as advanced as VLC has always been should do this as well.
