    IMO, if one has to attach and interconnect multiple devices to an iMac, it somewhat negates one of the advantages of the all-in-one iMac: clean and sleek with a single cable (power). This is how I use my iMac 90% of the time, except for occasional attachment of USB devices. Time machine is done wirelessly over the network.

    1. Jan 26, 2024. #1. I have an 21.5" iMac Late 2015 macOs Monterey that is painfully slow. Here is everything I have done to try and fix this: Reset SMC and PRAM. Ran first aid in Disk Utility - no issues. Uninstalled most apps. I cannot get the iMac to boot to any sort of diagnostic or recovery partition at all.

    Maybe with the i5 base cpu, another iMac 21.5 2019 would’ve been compatible with even an i9. I’ll try with your same cpu, hope it’ll work! Click to expand... If you use the Core i5 (8500) 3.0ghz, or Core i7 (8700) 3.2ghz ("Coffee Lake") it will work.
