Location. Dhaka. , Bangladesh. Website. https://bdu.ac.bd/. Bangladesh Digital University is Bangladesh's first specialized government digital university. [1] It was established in 2016 and started admission process in 2018. It is situated in Kaliakair, Gazipur, Dhaka.
By 2018, the university had 4 faculties with a total of 17 departments, and enrollment was 2900. Approximately 70% of students were pursuing degrees in engineering and technology, 15% in business, and 8% in science. About one tenth of the students were female. The Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) is situated in Gazipur District, approximately 40 km (25 mi) north of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It is about 20 km (12 mi) away from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Gazipur is well-connected by roads and railways with Dhaka and other major cities of Bangladesh.
In 1985, the NIEMT was renamed the Bangladesh Institute of Distance Education (BIDE) which offered, apart from audio-visual materials, a Bachelor of Education (BEd) programme via distance learning validated by the University of Rajshahi.
