I recently found a free antivirus software called Avast. I'm just wondering if it is safe to install and if it is worth it. If you can, please answer ASAP. My McAfee is running out. I have seen other users encounter BSoD(STOP) errors and viruses that made its way onto the PC. My PC is a Dell Inspiron 11 Series 3000.

Avast and 360 windows defender installed itself on my Laptop without permission. I was shocked the next morning because I suddenly have 2 Apps on my Laptop that I did not install. It appeared to install itself and it turned off my Windows defender antivirus.

i have windows 10 pro 1803 b17134.765 and avast internet security 19.5.2378 b19.5.4444.501) other pcs cannot access my local pc's network shares. when i turn off avast, it works. i didn't use to have this problem before but avast recently started blocking network file sharing even when my network has been set to private.
In my case, I use the Romanian language version of Avast Antivirus, but you can understand well the problem when looking to screnshots. Also, I want to mention that the notifications trigger every 10 minutes since I boot up my system. When I write now it's 1:11 AM.
