Gen 5 - Best: Snivy, Worst: Tepig (I didnt like the Gen 5 starters) Gen 6 - Best: Fennekin (Delphox is <3), Worst: Froakie (I do love him and his evo line, but everyone picked him) Gen 7 - Best: Popplio (Primarina is <3), Worst: Litten (Im okay with Incineroar now, but still wish it was a better design) Reply reply.
The answer is Chimchar & Inferno cuz you know: Not enough Fire type in Sinnoh. They’re all solid starters. Chimchar just happens to be the one most needed since the only other fire type availble is Rapidash and while it is still a solid pokemon it doesn’t gain the fighting type that infernape does.
It’s evolution is 4x weak to ice, and there are a lot of cool flying and ground types you might want to use, which are also weak to ice. That includes Garchomp which is also 4x weak to ice. Torterra, as cool as it is, is terrible for a balanced team. Chimchar is always a good option.
Gen 7 starters were pretty dope and Gen 6’s were alright, but 5 and 8’s are pretty awful. I literally cannot stand Samurott, his legs look like he shouldn’t be able to stand. And I don’t think every starter needs a secondary typing, but you’ve gotta do something interesting with them if they’re gonna be single type.
Starting with Gen 4, though, you start to see that a little more. Tying in with Gen 4's overall ties to mythology, the starters are themed around myths--Torterra is based on the myth of the world being on the back of a tortoise, Empoleon's trident symbolism tying into Poseidon, and Infernape being based on Sun Wukong from Journey to the West ...
Gen 4 Starters' Mega Evolutions. Torterra is by far the worst of the three starters, having an awful defensive typing and crap offensive stats. Therefore it's mega will be receiving the biggest buffs. Type: Grass/Steel. Abilty: Longevity (restores the pokemon's health by 1/8 every turn). HP:95.
Check IV calculator in Pokefinder and click "Find IV's" then back in Gen 4 Static - Searcher, select your starter, the IV filters should have been applied (make sure nature is selected to what you got), set min/max advances to the starter you want (Chikorita = 0, Cyndaquil = 4 & Totodile = 8), leave min/max delay to something big (i had 600 ...
You should do the Gen 4 starters in the style of Gen 2, the Gen 6 starters in the style of Gen 3, and the Gen 8 starters in the style of Gen 4. Reply. 875 votes, 26 comments. 4.5M subscribers in the pokemon community. r/pokemon is an unofficial Pokémon fan community. This is the place for most….
Gen 2 starters do actually have an interesting typing, but not for the reason you think. They're the only starter trio that don't have any secondary typings anywhere. The fact of the matter is, the gen 4 starters are playable. Infernape works well in both the special and physical roles with two good abilities in Iron Fist and Blaze.
