ISOs are just Digital copies of a disk and you mount them on the PS3 from Webman or MultiMan, while PKGs you install onto the console which is the main reason why I prefer ISOs, I can just connect an external SSD with all the ISO files and launch the games from there instead of using precious PS3 HDD space
Before you say anything about piracy or anything like that I have a lot of ps3 games I want to emulate but can’t rip the ISO’s my laptop does not have a disk drive and I think it would be easier if I could a good website that actually linked the game files anyways.
You can navigate by clicking on the various tabs for each company. When you click on the link to Github the first link you land on will be the Home tab, this tab explains how to use the Megathread. There are Five tabs that link directly to collections based on console and publisher, these include Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega, and the PC.
If you get games from Vimm or the archive.org main file they are in folder format. If you follow the guide on RPCS3s website it will tell you where to put the folders within the folder structure the emulator creates as it mimics the folder structure of the ps3 to run games from.
The best ones is actually vimm's lair. Because no matter if folder is jb or dkey, just take ur USB Make folder called "Gam" or "Gamz" etc, inside folder make one more folder with game that you want to download, go inside rar file/ 7zip and go inside for example "Gta V folder" and copy PS3_GAME and other file to usb.
SplatterHouse PS3 (ISO/PKG) SPLATTERHOUSE PKG (MUST HAVE HEN/ MULTIMAN) (MULTIMAN) Open Multiman → Leave MM open. (COMPUTER) Download FileZilla → Enter PS3 IP into FileZilla → Dev_hd000 →Packages → Drag PKG file into Packages. (PS3) Package manager → Install package files → PS3 System Storage → Download PKG.
Once you have found a game and downloaded the archived BD folder, you need to extract it. Open 7-Zip and extract [Game].7z into your preferred folder. Once that's done, open PS3 ISO TOOLS V2.2.rar with 7-zip. Once finished extracting the iso builder, open the .exe file and enter all of the info (i.e. Firmware patch, BD folder, Destination etc.)
Really easy stuff. There aren't specific sites in which you can get games directly on iso format, you have to get them as folder and then convert it to iso through PS3ISOTOOLS. Vimm.net and r/roms check the megathread. romspure.cc has a lot of them but they're encrypted redumps.
My personal/easy solution: Stage 1 (ripping): start Ps3 Disc Dumper, in settings set your output folder. mount iso (in windows right click>>open with..>>Windows explorer, wait for PS3 Dumper to recognize game and download disc key file >>press start, wait. That gives you decrypted game in folders.
