  2. Beware of Yelp: How it Harms Business Owners and Workers

    www.reddit.com/r/smallbusiness/comments/1alh2d2/beware_of_yelp_how_it_harms...

Yelp’s advertising model is controversial, to say the least. If business owners don’t fork over money for ads, Yelp allegedly hides positive reviews and showcases negative ones, essentially holding business reputations hostage. This practice is incredibly unfair and detrimental to both business owners and workers.

r/Yelp. Just be aware that yelp is not impartial and removes real reviews from businesses, if their business owner requests it. A local sushi place in Long Island has a massive roach infestation. They have an alert system in place for when the health department comes (they have been cited many times); they accidentally uploaded their menu to ...

  5. Is Yelp dead? If so, what are people using these days. : r/Yelp -...

Yelp died once they decided to force users to download the app to view reviews. Been dead and thankfully so. It was by far the worst review platform and skewed towards negative. Google Reviews is a heck of a lot more accurate. Nothing. Because the general public is not qualified to review restaurants.

  6. YELP ADS IS A SCAM : r/smallbusiness - Reddit

It's entirely because apple maps still relies on Yelp alone to populate it's map results with data. If apple dropped them and actually did their own in house system Yelp would fold overnight. Try to make your Yelp exposure only a basic profile with only 1 image and fill in the company details including website link.

  7. How is Yelp still in business : r/smallbusiness - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/smallbusiness/comments/uh8bxz/how_is_yelp_still_in_business

How is Yelp still in business. It blows my mind. My family business is a very large, reputable and well known construction company by pretty much everyone that lives in our city. Excellent word to mouth, over 35k customers, have won multiple small business of the year awards.. We have 530 google reviews at a 4.6 rating.

  8. Do you check Yelp or Google for reviews? : r/FoodNYC - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/FoodNYC/comments/17z04z3/do_you_check_yelp_or_google_for_reviews

Yes, it's maybe an unpopular opinion but I trust much more the combination "google reviews + opentable" than yelp or tripadvisor, what I have found is that google reviews and opentable are more or less consistent with each other, if a place gets 4.7 on google it will probably be a 4.5 in opentable.

Scammers. Rant. General. Let me tell you, dealing with Yelp as a small business is an absolute nightmare. It's like entering a den of fraudulence and incompetence. They claim to be this platform that helps businesses grow, but in reality, all they care about is their bottom line. Their employees are a bunch of clueless salespeople who have no ...

  10. Yelp equivalent in Korea : r/Living_in_Korea - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Living_in_Korea/comments/ilhaz9/yelp_equivalent_in_korea

Google Maps is very popular as well. It doesn't even work properly in Korea and yet so many people leave reviews there, sometimes even more than Naver or Kakao somehow. I assume it's because the app straight up asks you how it was when you visit places. 5. Award.

Yelp is garbage and I'm glad I haven't heard anyone mention them in at least 5 years. You kind of fast forwarded thru their scam lol. Long story short as soon as you realized their leads, which they send to all your competitors as well, are worthless and you stop paying, you'd notice all the reviews that make you look good suddenly get moved ...
