Firstly, I went to "Apps & Features" in the Windows settings and from there, uninstalled the minecraft launcher. Then, I downloaded and launched the minecraft launcher from the Microsoft store, instead of from the minecraft website. After doing that, Minecraft opened and ran flawlessly as always.
