I used to have mail.mydomain.com as incoming server and smtp.mydomain.com as outgoing server. Register tech support said to use register-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com for incoming, and register-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com for outgoing, with ports 993 and 587 respectively. I tried POP settings as well.
I have a client that wants to migrate from register.com to Google workspace. They have over 7 years of emails contacts and other data they’d like moved over. I’ve never dealt with register.com’s emails services and can’t find many details/example online.
Rant. Ok so after being on technical support for almost two weeks of phone calls: Client has Email/Hosting with Register.com. So my client had a normal 1990s site and we decided to go with wordpress to beef things up. I also advised him to stop using his comcast/verizon address for this email since he was paying for info@hisdomain.com.
Outbound e-mail seems to be going out based on the tests we have run, but still no incoming e-mail. Of course customer service and tech support is gone for the weekend and no updates on any of their websites. They probably sent us e-mails with updates. Time to fine a new domain registrar. Register.com is garbage!!!

They were unable to receive email since about 11:30 EDT/10:30CDT because their MX records couldn't be found. Register.com is is now owned by Web.com . They charge premium prices for basic domain registration and internet hosting. Hey, it costs more, so it must be better! 2.
Use a REAL DNS provider like Cloudflare or Route53. You know, someone who actually makes a business out of DNS. Not just someone who adds it because "I guess people think we do DNS 🤷". Pick your registrar because you trust them as a registrar. Pick your Nameserver provider because you trust them with DNS.
We have a user that uses register.com email host, as of last week their email server creating 4.4.7 errors with several emails stuck in the exchange queue from the sender domain. Re-entered password multiple times but still get the pop-up.
