I agree with the other comment that the rating feature on OfferUp is nice. However, I have had much better luck with FB Marketplace in terms of actually finding what I want. I think Facebook Marketplace has more use, so there's a better selection of items. I also prefer the interface, find it easier to navigate through items, and have fewer ads ...
Does anyone know how to get ahold of Offerup’s customer service? Their website says they’re available 7 days a week, but I’ve only received automated email replies when I’ve tried contacting them.
Craigslist has the most people on it period. Letgo for more luxury items, more upper middle class feel its safer than Craigslist. So it cant depend on what you are selling. I've been finding better deals on facebook as well. I have a few items up on OfferUp, Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.
For private sale OfferUp allows like one post per member or month. It might work (unpromoted), or it could easily get buried by the large number of small-time dealerships reposting their cars over and over. That's the only reason I wouldn't get TOO reliant on OfferUp for a car sale these days. 1.
Pretending for a split moment where they could actually afford an item by sending an offer their wallet/funds cannot back up. And/or trolls. Scumbags usually have no proper etiquette/decency/courtesy. I found a way to get back at these jerks.
I’ve been using OfferUp up until recently I added FB marketplace to the mix. I’ve been getting more sales on FB then on OfferUp too now but with FB you can also post to multiple selling groups in your nearby cities with just one post. So your viewing audience grows. That’s just my 2 cents though. 3.
No one is going to pay you $100 for secondhand luggage unless it's designer. also: pawnshops. With offerup you need to lower the price every few hours if your not getting hits. Well priced things sell fast. Or you might have some flakey buyers but if you have 2-3 messages in the first 30 minutes, your priced right.
Bought and sold many things on OfferUp. You just have to move fast when selling, people get distracted easily and there are many avenues for them to buy similar items elsewhere. I usually post Friday afternoon or Saturday morning and be prepared to get it out the door asap.
OfferUp only gave me two options/sizes for shipping labels, small and X-large. I selected the small box but the weight on the label is about a half pound lighter than the actual product. Anyone have experience with this situation? Thanks very much in advance! It really depends on your local post office whether they accept it or not.
