My father bought this scanner back in the 70's and I have fond memories of listening to it with him as a young boy. Now that I am a middle-aged man, I thought I would try to resurrect it and see if it still works. The unit turns on, but the reception is very poor. That is why I inquired about the antenna terminals.
My scanner is a brand new Uniden BC125AT, but it runs on 2012 software, version 1.04.02. The manual doesn't say anything about upgrading it. I don't really understand CTCSS codes. My understanding was that if I didn't program them into my scanner, I'd receive all transmissions on that frequency.

Sep 6, 2015. #5. Best scanner. Everybody has opinions. I have both Uniden and GRE (Whistler). For the simulcast system where I live, the GRE does best. For almost flawless reception, my EF Johnson 5100 is in another league compared to a "hobby grade" scanner. D.
