Robert Kenneth Kraft [1] (born June 5, 1941) is an American billionaire businessman. He is the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Kraft Group, a diversified holding company with assets in paper and packaging, sports and entertainment, real estate development, and a private equity portfolio.
Kraft Heinz owns the Tang brand in North America. Sales of Tang were poor until NASA used it on John Glenn 's Mercury flight in February 1962, [ 5 ] and on subsequent Gemini missions. [ 6 ] Since then it has been closely associated with the U.S. human spaceflight program, which created the misconception that Tang was invented for the space program.
It was structured so that Kraft Foods changed its name to Mondelez International and spun off Kraft Foods Group as a new publicly traded company. Maxwell House is an American brand of coffee manufactured by a like-named division of Kraft Heinz in North America and JDE Peet's in the rest of the world.
