Short review - FoodSaver vacuum sealing system item 3248298 on sale. Link to Costco dot com (I think you have to be logged in to see the price.) My old FoodSaver stopped heat sealing the bags after almost 20 years of reliable service. Great timing as this coincided with the March sales circular which shows the FM2900 on sale for $74.99, $25 off.

Protip: freeze your meat before vacuum sealing it, then back into the freezer. If you’re buying food in bulk, separating into smaller portions, and freezing, then it’s great, and 25% off an already reduced price is a great value. I have a different model from the same brand, and don’t regret my purchase.

  4. The best vacuum sealer...? : r/sousvide - Reddit

Sealing soup and freezing it flat is great. Instantly infuse/marinade. If you already know that you'll get a lot of use out of a sealer, the cost of a chamber sealer isn't unreasonable. Especially when the bags cost less than generic zip tops, let alone Food Saver bags/rolls. Check out the VacMaster VP112S.

  5. Upgraded to Chamber Vacuum sealer. Game changer $600 @ Costco

NCGiant. •. For dry meats and veggies it’s a total waste of money for a chamber sealer. Get a regular food saver for $100-150 and it’s worth it’s weight in gold. If you’re doing marinated meat with excess liquid, or like soups then a chamber sealer is pretty much the only way to do it well. Reply reply.

  6. Food Saver Vacuum Sealer : r/Costco - Reddit

It was about $450. Since it is a chamber vacuum sealer, liquids are much easier; also the bags are cheap. I pay about $.05/bag in lots of 1000 bags. It isn't impossible to freeze liquids with the foodsaver units. You can now get a different type of bag from foodsaver that will seal liquids (at a higher cost per bag).

  7. Kirkland Vacuum Sealing Bags : r/Costco - Reddit

I picked up a box of these Kirkland sealing bags a few Costco runs ago. Saw this post and decided to give it a try since I also have the Anova Pro Sealer. Yep, same problem. The vacuum seal lets go as soon as the motor stops. Definitely a return. Good thing I found out now rather than when it was time to sous vide a meal. Thanks cjlee89 for the ...

I couldn’t even get a vacuum seal on the Kirkland rolls. It would vacuum then hiss before the seal was complete. The precuts don’t hiss and thus keeping the vacuum as it seals. The sealing lines on the precuts were smooth while the sealing lines on the rolls had small bumps in them.

I'd recommend the VP230 or the VP321 both have a double seal strip and use an oil pump which can pretty much run cycles non stop. Agree 100%. Get a chamber vac sealer. Rarely get bags that don’t seal properly. Here is a clue, you can vacuum pack water and it will seal. Vac Master if you want a name brand, but I've had good luck with my Vevor ...

  10. Is a vacuum sealer for meat necessary? : r/Costco - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Costco/comments/1ayly4b/is_a_vacuum_sealer_for_meat_necessary

You can get a vacuum sealer for way cheaper than that on Amazon. Buy the rolls instead of bags, cheaper and more versatile. Most things I get at Costco I split, then vacuum seal and freeze. For example, this week I got ground beef (approx 6lbs) I cooked up 2lbs for dinner, and vacuum sealed 2, 2 lb packs to freeze.

  11. Bought a vacuum food sealer, now what? : r/Costco - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Costco/comments/uf29cw/bought_a_vacuum_food_sealer_now_what

Vacuum seal and freeze bulk meat (10# chub of ground beef), steaks, cut up a whole pork loin, grab clearance deals ($0.97 brats a few years ago - around 16 packs!!), or just throw in one of the kids favorite toys in and vacuum seal and wait for their reaction.
