The college was established by the Florida Board of Regents in 1958 as a separate school within the J. Hillis Miller Health Science Center and is a member of the ASPPH and CEPH.
Its purpose was to provide quality training of allied health staff in-house, to support MacGregor’s growth. In 1990, the academy was approved by the Texas Workforce Commission to provide allied health education and training.
