Re: Blackstone ignitor question -- clicky but no sparky! #13. May 13, 2015, 07:26:45 PM. Craig's right, old igniters on water heaters, furnaces etc build up rust and carbon deposits. Take some fine sandpaper, steel wool, green pad and buff the igniter wire off, like you would clean a spark plug. A fix 90% of the time.

If the blackstone is the same as the original, 60K BTU is defintiely not efficient. Similar 16" ovens are less than half of the propane usage. That being said, the PALA pizza review is the one where he said hte blackstone was unsable for NY. The only reason he claimed that was the manual said not to adjust the regulator so he didn't touch it.

Drill a 1/4" hole in the center of the stone. Use a countersink bit BY HAND so you check when the 1/4" screw sets flush in the stone. At the point you can attach the screw, stone, fender washing, and coupler nut together. Use the hacksaw to shorten the threaded rod to ~16".

I love my OG Blackstone. Still pumping out Neapolitan, New York, Deep Dish pies by the dozens every time I use it after 10 years. Rebuilt various parts of it, and it's still going strong. It was a GREAT buy; no, it was a STEAL @ $250. Pricing the new Blackstone at $1,000 (regular price), means it's entering the price range of "serious'" ovens.

Bob, IIRC, it is actually open on bottom as well, but yes, I am guessing the lower cutout allows for an air intake, as well as to access the switch to turn on the motor to spin the lower stone. 9. Ideal temp for blackstone pizza oven? - Pizza Making Forum

Re: Ideal temp for blackstone pizza oven? #1. March 16, 2024, 05:30:34 PM. Yes, try launching at a higher temp. I assume you are using an IR to measure the stone temp. 2 diff IR can register vastly diff temps due to a number of factors, so while others may say they launch at 650, that could be a higher stone temp than when your IR says 650.

July 02, 2017, 10:24:31 PM. The manual says on the 5 psi regulator to open the regulator full open (Clockwise) then back one turn. That will get you about as high of temperature as you want. Closing the regulator (Counter Clockwise) then opening one full turn will get in the lower range say 500-650F.

  11. Making bread in the Blackstone - Pizza Making Forum

Used the America's Test Kitchen recipe (no kneading) and baked in cake pans. Set the oven at the lowest flame, which showed about 375 on the temp gauge, and baked for about 12-14 minutes. The first loaf was a bit too brown on bottom (see pic) but think that was because I started the bread at higher temp.
