The University of the Immaculate Conception ( Filipino: Pamantasang Imaculada Conception ), also referred to by its acronym UIC, is a private Catholic basic and higher education institution administered by the Religious of the Virgin Mary in Davao City, Davao del Sur, Philippines. The university began in 1905 as Escuela Catolica de San Pedro.
The history of La Salle Ozamiz dates back to the establishment of a parochial school in 1789 within the Parish of the Immaculate Conception. The school was established by the Recollect parish priest, Fr. Constancio Arsenio, OAR, with the first classes being the Cartilla, the Misterio, the Trisagio, and the Novena.
In 1940, the school had its first batch of high school graduates. During the leadership of Pacifico B. Araullo in 1950 and the years that followed, the school underwent great changes and claimed significant achievements. In 1962, the Cabanatuan Institute was elevated into a college and it was given the name, College of the Immaculate Conception.
