You've completed a My School DC application, which is the first step. Now it's time to enroll. Here's how. If your child is matched with a school through the lottery for the 2024-25 school year, you must enroll your child at their matched school by May 1, 2024.

Families must use the My School DC application to apply to PK programs offered by schools that participate in My School DC, including: DCPS PK3 and PK4 programs, including the program in your in-boundary school. Click HERE to locate your DCPS in-boundary PK program; and. PK programs at public charter schools.
The My School DC application. The My School DC application is a single online application you must use to apply if you want your child to be a NEW student at a: PK3 or PK4 program at any DCPS school, including your in-boundary school and any DCPS Early Action PK school.

Families can submit a post-lottery application at MySchoolDC.org through the first week of October. Families seeking to apply to schools after that time must complete a mid-year application by calling the My School DC Hotline at (202) 888-6336.

Students can apply to up to 12 high schools on the My School DC application. Schools use waitlists to fill seats when they become available, and they make offers to their waitlisted applicants in order. There is no guarantee that schools will make waitlist offers, however. Waitlists are active for the school year and do not carry over to the next year.
