1. I created an account at MyEquifax website with my email address and unique password. 2. Equifax requires a PIN for verification, so they mailed it to my physical address. 3. I received the PIN via mail and entered in Equifax website. 4. Equifax website stated the PIN is valid and now I have an account.

For my own strategy, at the end of the day, I don't have many hard pulls or any immediate plans for additional cards, and the points I'd lose from another inquiry would be minimal, so it may not matter much.
