In answer to your question, no qbittorrent's RSS feed does NOT keep track of the actual episode names it downloads. If you get episode 1 for the show then a month later episode 1 gets re-uploaded and enters your feed with FIXED attached to the name of it then qbittorent will see it as a new hit and download it unless its filtered.
Nor did I find an option to limit the active seeds and overall number of active torrents. EDIT: Nevermind. I found it (Options > Bittorrent > Torrent Queuing). Guess I wasn't seeing the wood for the trees. Last edited by superschnitzel on Wed Aug 15, 2012 6:33 am, edited 1 time in total.

Try resetting your settings by following these steps: 1- Close qBittorrent. 2- Go to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\qBittorrent 3- Delete this file: qBittorrent 4- Start qBittorrent. I've had this issue as of late seemingly out of nowhere, as I haven't made any changes to anything. Downloads will gradually slow down in speed, until it hits 0. Sometimes torrents added barely gain any speed at all, before slowing down to zero. It varies how long a torrent will download for before it happens, as well as when a torrent starts ...

I had been using other torrent clients (with limited success) and heard that QBit was better. The majority of my torrent downloads now get stuck on Downloading Metadata. I am using a VPN and have selected "Any Interface" in Qbitt's Advanced Settings section. I have tried each of the individual interfaces but that didn't fix it.
qBittorrent 4.4.5. ".qbit" extension added. "Pre-Allocate disk" is activated. At start, at the request of a torrent, download failure. Every time the program is ran at boot, although the "default save path" and the "Copy .torrent files to" are set to "C:\Users\Userxxx\Downloads", qBittorrent tries to save in its installed program folder.
