I have an older email which is insight.rr.com so I'm using Incoming mail server - mail.twc.com, SSL - off with incoming port 143, can't use SSL - on with port 993, incoming mail only works on port 143 incoming mail, authentication-password, Out going mail server - mail.twc.com, SSL - on, authentication-password , port 587.

AUP#Out-1500" My SMTP server has been set to 'smtp-server.socal.rr.com' or 'mail.twc.com'—both of which worked with SSL set to 'never' until this month.
Is email automatically available to everyone who has spectrum internet? I've had internet service for 4-5 years and I just recently found out there's a supposed @twc.com email address for spectrum customers. If true how does one initially set email up? I've tried the self care instructions from a prior question but my login credentials don't work.
The email server hostname will probably now need to be mail.twc.com in your case. Don't change from POP3 to IMAP unless and until you know the ramifications but make sure the POP3 port is 995 and the encryption protocol is TLS (any problems, try SSL instead, depending on how old the email app is.)
The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again. Frustrating. Spectrum support just says it's a third party problem. Apple says it's a Spectrum problem.
Email is a free service that is complimentary with an active internet subscription. Roadrunner accounts were associated with legacy TWC accounts, and since becoming Spectrum in 2016, new email accounts have the @spectrum.com domain. It sounds like you had an older email associated with a previous account, and that the email was recently purged.

I messed around with my Local Area Connection and the Wifi network settings and I rebooted. after I lost all connection to Wifi and now I can send emails. If I knew what I did, I could fix my wife's email.
Spammers have obviously increased their technology level to be able to create numerous email addresses and domains - when will Spectrum up their SPAM filtering capability to address the problem.
