Why Don't They Make a Pistol Brace Like This... My frustration with AR pistol braces comes from the fact that there really isn't one that is the best of all worlds. --I like the KAK brace but it requires a special buffer tube. --I like the SBA3 brace because it uses the milspec buffer tube, but I hate the rubber "flaps".

  3. why put tape on an ACOG fiber optic tube? - m4carbine.net

    www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?67916-why-put-tape-on-an-ACOG-fiber-optic-tube

13 (100%) When you reduce the blooming, it is easier to make more precision shots, though going overboard on the tape can slightly reduce acquisition speed. My SOP when I had an ACOG was to zero it with the whole fiber optic covered, and then tape up half of it for normal use. It worked very well. 11-29-10, 05:05 #8.

    www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?71240-Bravo-Company-20-quot-SS410-SAM-R...

I picked up one of his 20" SS 410 barrels last month and finished a rifle build. I'll talk about the barrel first, how it shoots, and the rest of the gun. Barrel specs. The barrel is 410 stainless steel. The barrel blanks come from a top notch barrel company, and are likewise cut at a top notch shop.

  5. Mobil One As a Lube But What Weight? - Page 2 - m4carbine.net

    www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?212410-Mobil-One-As-a-Lube-But-What-Weight/page2

Assuming a change to Mobil One as a gun lube, what weight is best for lubing an AR? Every conceivable weight from 0w-20 to 15w- 40 is available. So what is best, thing, thick, in between or does it even matter? Since a quart will last soooooo long, it is better to know going in rather than be stuck with the wrong weight.

  6. Run a AFG or AFG2 and why..? - m4carbine.net

    www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?74973-Run-a-AFG-or-AFG2-and-why

I like Afg2 mainly because it doesn't block of your side rail spaces. if you want to mount a light or something else that has a downward facing mount you wont be able to with AFG1. It also the two takes up less space on the bottom rail as well. Ditto. I've used VFGs and I prefer the AFG2.

  8. Why would you get 4MOA vs. 2 on an Aimpoint? - m4carbine.net

    www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?80138-Why-would-you-get-4MOA-vs-2-on-an-Aimpoint

If you turn up the intensity on an Aimpoint 2 MOA model, you can get it very close to 4 MOA in size. If I recall one of LtCol Blish's posts correctly, the published size of the dot is measured on either setting number 7 or 8. I prefer a 2 MOA model, as I can "crank up" the dot size for close range, or turn it back down to 2 MOA for further ...

  9. Ed Brown vs. Dan Wesson. - m4carbine.net

    www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?66256-Ed-Brown-vs-Dan-Wesson

Ed Brown vs. Dan Wesson. I've been considering an Ed Brown carry that I've found. While I've been "thinking" about spending nearly $3k on it I've been looking at other high end 1911s. I found a Dan Wesson that is nearly identical in features and size as the Ed Brown for about $1200 less than the EB. So the question is; Is the EB that much ...

  10. How many Mags on belt? - m4carbine.net

    www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?75232-How-many-Mags-on-belt

1 (100%) Congratulations, great choice on a belt. Usually people either run 2 or 3 AR mags. Personally, I've found that 2 AR mags fit on my hip rather well and that if I run 3, I really have to start reaching back behind myself for that last one, especially when running secondary mags in front of the AR mags on the belt.

  11. Tactical Reloads VS Reloads with Retention - M4Carbine.net

    www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?57130-Tactical-Reloads-VS-Reloads-with-Retention

The tactical reload requires more fine motor skills to manipulate the hand to hold the fresh mag while unloading the pistol and then vice versa. The retention method requires less dexterity. I use the retention method. Reload time is less than two seconds wearing concealment garment. 06-29-10, 09:59 #3.
