Swampy (environmentalist) Daniel Marc Hooper (born 1973), known by the nickname Swampy, is a British environmental activist. [ 1] He was involved in a number of environmental protests in the 1990s, becoming nationally famous after spending a week in a tunnel aiming to stop the expansion of the A30 in Fairmile, Devon, in 1996.
